Matthias “Matteo” Hartig is a German luthier from Glattbach, Bavaria. Just like the famous Robert Bouchet, it was only in his forties that he discovered his true vocation in guitar making. His inspiration is the sound of the instruments of the old masters. Especially Torres, Enrique Garcia, Antonio Emilio Pascual and Richard Jacob “Weißgerber”. Matteo is dedicated to traditional building methods, using almost exclusively hide glue for his construction and shellac for the finish.
The Matthias Hartig 2024 No. 84 classical guitar is a masterpiece of traditional craftsmanship, displaying a simple yet elegant design that draws its influence from the iconic Antonio de Torres. Constructed with exquisite Indian rosewood for the back and sides, this guitar not only captures the eye with its aesthetic appeal but also enchants the ear with the richness and warmth of its tone. One of its most compelling features is its beautiful lyricism in voicing, which makes playing this guitar a truly delightful experience. Each note is captured with nuanced expressiveness, bringing any musical piece to life with captivating clarity. Overall, the Matthias Hartig 2024 No. 84 combines the essence of simplicity and traditional influence in its design while offering exceptional performance and playability, making it a standout choice for both aspiring and seasoned musicians.
