Johannes T'Kindt was born near Ghent, Flanders and studied luthiery at the International Lutherie School Antwerp (ILSA). During his studies at ILSA, he worked as an intern-aprentice with Stephen Hill, where he got familiar with the Granada style of guitar making. He moved to Spain in 2017 and established his workshop in Nigüelas, a small village in the Sierra Nevada, close to Granada. His flamenco and classical models are built in the traditional style but showing a quite modern look. The woods are very carefully selected and the craftsmanship brought to a high level.
This José Luis Romanillos inspired guitar is just beautiful. It is built very light and sounds thus very airy and open. Due to its easy response and the pleasant neck profile it is also very easy to play. In addition, the instrument offers a rich and colourful tone, with great delicacy and present harmonics. The rosette has a beautiful massive Zebrano inlay, and the inlays are a combination of beech, maple and Indian rosewood. This instrument is really attractive. Not only because of the convincing and wonderfully singing sound character, but also because of the excellent value for money.
