Carl Hermann Schäfer started making guitars in 1966. He did his apprenticeship under the guidance of master guitar maker Ernest Köröskeny and later studied under master guitar maker Dieter Hopf. After having worked in Hopf’s workshop from 1971 to 1994, he opened his own in Oberneisen and moved to Niederbrechen, Germany, five years later.
This guitar is a Santos Hernandez inspired model with a compact body size and short scale length. The label is a tribute to Santos Hernandez, with an adapted copy of the master's label. Its smaller size and lightweight remind of the “Señorita” models built in Spain during the 19th and beginning of the 20th century. This fine maple guitar has a huge sound, it is very spontaneous with great lyrical charm in the trebles and deep basses. It is the perfect guitar for a player looking for a short scale instrument, which not only meets high demands but also offers a great comfort.
