Overview
Clarity in sound, sustain and great balance are the characteristics which make the Kasha-Modell, constructed by Thomas Ochs, become outstanding. Design and construction are based on physical and acoustical principles. In the construction of this guitar, Thomas Ochs was inspired by the works of the US-American Physician Prof. Dr. Michael Kasha, who has given various innovative impulses for the construction of guitars since the 1970’s of the 20th century. The asymmetric construction of the guitar’s top, the accordingly attuned bridge, the resonating back and the sound port located at the guitars side characterize the instrument. Captivating in its elegance, quick in responsiveness, and with a voluminous sound, this guitar is the perfect instrument for the modern player. This 2013 model has a top made of Canadian cedar and a body consisting of exceptionally attractively grained East Indian rosewood. The body including the top is sealed with high gloss polished nitrocellulose lacquer, the neck with an oil/wax finish. The guitar is in very good condition and has only superficial signs of use.
The most impressive thing about this guitar is its sound. The sound port on the side offers an accurate feedback and control over the sound, and it is therefore of a great support when playing with other instruments. This is also a strongly projecting guitar with incredible dynamic possibilities and a delicate separation of the voices. Another enjoyable feature is the waxed neck, which offers a great natural feeling to the left hand.
