Thomas Dauge – 2019 – Friederich Model

Thomas Dauge – 2019 – Friederich Model

Overview

Thomas Dauge is a French guitar maker based in Bordeaux. He follows the French tradition of guitar making and proves great skills in the design and construction of the rosette and other marquetry elements. Thomas Dauge pays great attention to every detail of the instrument, such as the choice of wood, the quality of shellac polish, the clean execution of the joints and, above all, the sound characteristics of his guitars. He succeeds in building very well-balanced instruments with complex timbre and excellent playability.

With this guitar, which he built as a tribute to Daniel Friederich, Thomas Dauge has once again achieved an absolute masterpiece. This exact copy corresponds to the original in every detail. Both in the quality of the woods and the inlay work, as well as in the perfect execution of the varnish. Also in terms of sound, it is amazingly close to the instruments of the master Daniel Friederich.

Both the sound and the playing feel meet the highest expectations. The neck is relatively thin, which makes for excellent playability. Great projection and a harmonious, balanced sound combine with amazing sustain. Moreover, this guitar has a clear and warm tone that captivates with its elegance. Congratulations to Thomas Dauge for once again creating such a beautiful Daniel Friederich model.

  • Classical Guitars

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
