La Cañada - 17 Maple 64cm

La Cañada - 17 Maple 64cm

Overview

The La Cañada models are built following the pattern of old masters and are the result of the cooperation of two German guitar builders. In his activity as a respected and world-renowned guitar maker, Edmund Blöchinger was able to examine and measure many beautiful original instruments made by Antonio de Torres, among others. In cooperation with guitar maker and tonewood expert Wolfgang Jellinghaus, Blöchinger has created handmade instruments that are built in a small manufactory in China based on Blöchinger’s detailed construction plans. Due to the excellent choice of wood and the careful workmanship, guitars in the style of old masters are made there, which are more than worth seeing.

Model 17 is a tribute to the instrument played by Francisco Tárrega. The original is from the first construction period of Don Antonio de Torres and therefore bears the suffix “FE” for “First Epoch”. The Cañada models are also convincing in terms of sound. With its warm full sound character and the immediate direct tone, this Cañada 17 is not only suitable for slow and carried pieces but is also appropriate for a repertoire that includes fast tempos and precise accentuation. Due to its 64cm scale, it is particularly comfortable and provides a lot of playing pleasure. The guitar is finished with shellac which completes the overall picture of this instrument very nicely. In addition, the price-performance ratio is excellent and allows almost every passionate guitarist to purchase an instrument that meets the highest demands. This guitar is built with maple back and sides, which gives it a fantastic look and a very characteristic sweet sound.

  • Classical Guitars

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
