Musical Background and Early Passion

Marco Gilioli was born on November 19, 1987, in Milan. He has always been passionate about music, beginning his studies with the piano, which he played for over 15 years, and later shifting to the guitar. Driven by a deep passion for this instrument, he entered the world of guitar making almost by chance.

Formal Training and Influence

He enrolled at the Civica Scuola di Liuteria in Milan, where he graduated in 2011 under the guidance of master luthiers Lorenzo Lippi, Tiziano Rizzi, and Gabriele Negri. During his final year, he attended the workshop of Maestro Mirko Migliorini, where a true passion for the classical guitar emerged, fascinated by its infinite tonal nuances and the study of sound.

Inspiration from Tradition

From that moment on, he immersed himself in the study of the great violin and guitar makers of the past, focusing on the Spanish tradition and in particular Antonio de Torres, who revolutionized the construction and sound of the classical guitar.

Craftsmanship and Philosophy

His instruments are made using traditional Spanish methods, emphasizing sound and the needs of the guitarist: a sweet, soft, and well-balanced tone with deep basses and resonant trebles, combined with excellent playability, ease of execution, and strong projection. Great attention is also devoted to finishes, details, and craftsmanship.
