Lisa Weinzierl - 2023 No. 65

Lisa Weinzierl - 2023 No. 65

Overview

Lisa Weinzierl is one of the most talented luthiers of the new generation. After her training as a guitar maker at the renowned instrument-making school in Mittenwald, she gained experience with many established guitar makers such as Gernot Wagner, Andreas Kirschner, Gert Esmyol, Peter Ziegler, Christopher Schuetz, and Leo Sprenger. With her master craftsman diploma in plucked instrument making, Lisa received a gold medal and the master craftsman award from the Bavarian state government. Lisa is currently working for the London instrument and bow makers W.E. Hill and Sons under the direction of Stefan-Peter Greiner and Robert Brewer Young. In this creative and vibrant workshop, she builds her guitars.

Given the meticulous attention to detail and painstaking labor invested in each of her creations, it's no wonder that Weinzierl produces only a limited number of guitars each year, making each one a rare and sought-after piece. The guitar is finished with a pristine French polish, highlighting Weinzierl's commitment to blending tradition with innovation. Every aspect of the instrument, from the intricate traditional bracing and the elegantly elevated fingerboard to the flawlessly contoured neck with its distinctive German “V” joint, embodies the pinnacle of luthiery. The addition of elite Scheller tuners, known for their precision and quality, further enhances the guitar's overall sense of elegance and craftsmanship, making it a standout in both aesthetic and functional terms.

However, the true essence of this guitar lies in the unique playing experience it offers. It transcends being merely an instrument; it is an ethereal entity, producing tones that are akin to a siren's song, capturing the heart and soul of the player and listener alike. The guitar’s tone is like a whispered lullaby, enchanting and stirring, capable of evoking deep emotions. Its F main resonance imbues it with bass notes that are both profound and hauntingly mellow, striking a rare balance often not found in low-resonance instruments. This guitar is not only a marvel in terms of its rich tonal palette but also an acoustic powerhouse, offering a volume that defies its traditional construction, making it perfect for the concert stage.

Lisa Weinzierl 2023 No. 65 Classical Guitar Review

While this guitar is sold, these are ready for you

  • Classical Guitars

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
