Kim Lissarrague - 2013

Kim Lissarrague - 2013

Overview

Kim Lissarrague is a recognised Australian luthier. He began building guitars at the very early age of thirteen and is now established in the Blue Mountains, west of Sydney. Kim makes a limited number of high-quality guitars per year and developed his own designs based on the "Australian School" of guitar making. In other words, his guitars are lattice-braced with an arched back, offering a huge projection, clarity and sustain.
This guitar built in 2013 is in absolutely pristine condition. It is built with a thinly worked cedar top and astonishing Ziricote back and sides, making it a powerful and well projecting guitar. The volume produced by this instrument is just incredible and Kim Lissarrague definitely owns his place in our top 5 of the most powerful guitars. It also shows a very rich and flexible tone with great dynamic possibilities. It is overall a fantastic concert guitar at the highest level.

  • Classical Guitars

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
