Overview
Yulong Guo is probably the best-known Chinese guitar maker in and outside China. He has been building guitars for almost 40 years and has gained a worldwide reputation. One of the highlights of his career is winning second place in a lutherie competition in Spain recently. He impressed visitors and the jury alike with his mastery of woodworking and the exceptional sound qualities of his guitars.
The Artist Echoes model is quite exceptional, offering a double top guitar in a very affordable price category. This model is built in a workshop supervised by Yulong Guo, employing between three and five experienced Chinese luthiers. Most of these luthiers are trained by Yulong Guo and have been working with him for many years. This guitar is made with a sober and precise design, rather modern and very recognizable.
It is a powerful and warm sounding instrument. A soft and colourful tone is obtained very easily and without effort. The ease of playing for the left hand is also noticeable, allowing the guitarist to play freely and to progress quickly. The result is a beautifully crafted guitar whose convincing sound and ease of playing place it among the best guitars in this price range.
