Wolfgang Jellinghaus baut bereits seit seinem vierzehnten Lebensjahr Gitarren. Als Sohn eines Gitarrenbauers kam er 1951 in Dortmund zur Welt, wo er schon im frühesten Kindesalter mit Gitarren aufwuchs und über die Jahre eine große Leidenschaft und Fachkenntnis für dieses Instrument entwickelte. Seit einigen Jahren lebt und arbeitet Wolfgang Jellinghaus in China, wo er in einer kleinen Manufaktur handgebaute Gitarren von erstaunlicher Qualität baut.

Es ist eine wahre Freude, diese Gitarre zu spielen, was für ein spannendes und inspirierendes Instrument. Als wir die Gitarre zum ersten Mal in die Hand nahmen, waren wir alle mehr als erstaunt über den vollen und ansprechenden Klang, der von einer Gitarre mit einem so relativ kleinen Korpus ausgeht. Kristallklare Höhen mit responsiven Bässen erzeugen einen gleichmäßigen, süßen Klang mit einer Reminiszenz an historische Instrumente. Ahornboden und -zargen gepaart mit einer optisch gealterten Decke ergeben ein reaktionsfreudiges Instrument, bei dem man als Spieler das Feedback spüren kann. Dieses herrliche Torres-Modell ist mit modernen Mechaniken anstelle von Wirbeln ausgestattet, wodurch es viel leichter zu stimmen ist, aber dennoch zum Gesamtbild passt.
