Wolfgang Jellinghaus baut bereits seit seinem vierzehnten Lebensjahr Gitarren. Als Sohn eines Gitarrenbauers kam er 1951 in Dortmund zur Welt, wo er schon im frühesten Kindesalter mit Gitarren aufwuchs und über die Jahre eine große Leidenschaft und Fachkenntnis für dieses Instrument entwickelte. Seit einigen Jahren lebt und arbeitet Wolfgang Jellinghaus in China, wo er in einer kleinen Manufaktur handgebaute Gitarren von erstaunlicher Qualität baut.
Seine neueste Serie sind die Wolfgang Jellinghaus Signature Modelle.Hierbei handelt es sich um ein sehr moderne Gitarre mit einigen interessanten Eigenschaften, wie beispielsweise dem schwebenden Griffbrett, das nicht an der Decke befestigt ist, wodurch auch dieser Bereich der Decke frei schwingt und zum Gesamtklang beiträgt. Das Klangvolumen wird dadurch sehr kräftig, auch dank der sehr leichten Double-top Bauweise. Dadurch ist es mit wenig Kraftaufwand der rechten Hand möglich einen sehr vollen und raumfüllenden Ton zu erzeugen, was für die rechte Hand sehr angenehm ist. Auch die Armstütze trägt zum Gesamt-Comfort bei. Die Gitarre ist mit Schellack veredelt und rundet sehr schön das Gesamtbild dieses Instruments ab. In diesem Preissegment ist die Gitarre mehr als überzeugend.
