Solveig Kirschner - 2023 No. 34

Solveig Kirschner - 2023 No. 34

Overview

Solveig attended the National School of Musical Instrument Making in Mittenwald and now lives in Niedenstein, where she runs a joint workshop with her husband Andreas. She builds only four to five guitars per year. With the highest dedication as well as precision, Solveig creates breathtakingly beautiful instruments. Her guitars are traditionally built, very light, and impressively powerful. Typical for her instruments is the charming and elegant sound of the trebles, which in combination with perfect balance and long sustain combine to create a wonderfully singing guitar.

This brand-new 2023 guitar is a modern creation inspired by a celebrated 1937 German guitar. Unveiled at the prestigious 2023 Antwerpen Guitar Festival, this instrument has already captivated audiences and guitarists alike with its remarkable sound quality. Crafted using traditional methods, this guitar stands as a testament to the enduring appeal of classic guitar-making techniques, while embracing the clarity and robustness demanded by contemporary musicians.

This guitar's most striking feature is its sonority; the sound it produces is both open and rich, a rarity in new instruments that often require a period of playing in to reach their full potential. Its exceptional clarity and volume set it apart, making every note resonate with purity and depth. This characteristic is particularly significant for guitarists who seek an instrument capable of articulating intricate musical passages while maintaining a full-bodied sound.

The playability of this guitar is another aspect where it excels. It has been designed with the utmost attention to detail, ensuring that it is comfortable to play, facilitating ease of movement across the fretboard. This focus on playability, combined with the quality of tone, renders this guitar not only a joy to play but also a source of constant inspiration

Lastly, the craftsmanship of this 2023 guitar is of the highest caliber. Every element, from the selection of woods to the final finish, has been executed with precision and care, resulting in an instrument that is as aesthetically pleasing as it is sonically impressive.

  • Classical Guitar

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
