Simon Marty – 2023

Simon Marty – 2023

Overview

In 1984, Simon Marty was given a grant from the Australian government to use advanced research methods (laser holography and computer finite element analysis) to explore and develop his design innovations. Simon Marty began building guitars in 1982 because, as a guitarist, he was interested in exploring new approaches to luthiery that could lead to significant improvements in sound performance. The results of these endeavors were powerful-sounding, responsive, and well-balanced instruments. His guitars are played by many well-known guitarists such as Anabel Montesinos, Scott Tennant, Mak Grgić, Slava Grigoryan, Marco Tamayo, and many others.

This 2023 Simon Marty guitar is a stunning testament to the mastery of luthier craftsmanship. Known for its resonating volume and striking sound profile, this instrument is a remarkable culmination of Marty's seasoned design techniques and his ceaseless pursuit of perfection. The guitar emanates solid trebles and booming basses, contributing to a thick, dense, and incredibly robust overall sound.

The brand-new guitar features a superbly crafted Spruce top, selected for its uniform grain and extraordinary resonance, paired with rare Madagascar rosewood for the back and sides. This exotic wood combination adds a unique color to the instrument, both visually and tonally, enhancing its aesthetics and elevating its sound quality. The Madagascar rosewood resonates with a rich, deep warmth that complements the crystal-clear Spruce top, producing a harmony of timbre that is a genuine feast for the senses.

This guitar is not just an instrument but a dream realized. Its sound is pure, as clear as the finest crystal, and imbued with a mellow warmth that can only be described as enchanting. Playing it is like whispering in the language of music, with every strum and pluck painting vivid aural landscapes.

Marty, with his exceptional reputation, has a long waiting list. Securing one of his masterpieces is indeed a significant achievement, and owning one is a lifetime privilege. This freshly-crafted 2023 Simon Marty guitar, straight from his prestigious workshop, is indeed an elusive gem, waiting to become the crown jewel of any discerning guitarist's collection.

  • Classical Guitar

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
