Overview
Richard Jacob Weissgerber built this splendid guitar following the example of a model constructed by Johann Knößing in 1804. Weissgerber used the best materials for this model and decorated it with magnificent inlays. The top is made of nut-brown stained spruce wood. The fingerboard is scalloped and decorated with wonderful mother of pearl inlays. The top is framed by dark veneer wood and bone around the soundhole. The soundhole tapered with elliptical inlays of bone which are embedded in a rosette of dark wood. The fingerboard is embedded in the guitar's top. It is scalloped and decorated with mother of pearl inlays on the third and on the fifth fret. The eleventh and twelvth fret are located on the top.
