Overview
Richard Jacob Weissgerber has built around 3500 instruments of unique beauty. During the first years he also sold instruments to middlemen, which attached their own labels to the guitars. This Torres-Model from 1932 dates back to a transitional period when ‘Weissgerber’ decorated his Torres-Models with plain rosettes. From 1933 onwards, the soundholes were most often only bordered by simple wood shavings.
The top is made of spruce, back and ribs consist of rosewood. The neck is made from mahogany. Also the head consists of mahogany and has an attached ebony head plate. The fingerboard is made of ebony.
