Overview
Richard Jacob Weissgerber has built around 3500 instruments of unique beauty. During the first years he also sold instruments to middlemen, which attached their own labels to the guitars.
This Torres-Model from 1929 corresponds to the typical Torres-Model of the late 1920’s. A special feature of those models from this time is the characteristic rosette consisting of ring patterns. The rosette is made of ebony and galalith. From 1933 onwards, most soundholes were only bordered by simple wood shavings.
The top of this guitar is made of spruce, back and ribs consist of East Indian rosewood. The neck is made from mahogany. Also the head consists of mahogany and has an attached head plate on its front-side.
