Diese wunderschöne Gitarre wurde von 'Petitjean' hergestellt, einer der bekanntesten und besten Gitarrenwerkstätten zu jener Zeit in Mirecourt. Schon um 1800 arbeitete die Familie im Bereich des Musikinstrumentenbaus. Die Werkstätte wurde höchst wahrscheinlich von vielen Mitgliedern der Familie betrieben. Die Gitarren wurden mit verschiedenen Herstellernamen versehen, wie etwa: 'Petitjean L'ainé à Paris' (wie in diesem vorliegenden Falle), 'Petitjean à Mirecourt' und 'Petitjean'. Die Neuerungen der 'Petitjean' Werkstätte war, dass die Gitarren nicht mehr einen zweiteiligen Boden, sondern einteilig aus Massivholz oder aus Furnier gebaut wurden. Zudem wurden auch wertvolle Edelhölzer verarbeitet wie z.B. brasilianisches Rosenholz. Die hier vorgestellte Gitarre ist sehr fein verabeitet und besitzt eine Decke aus fein gemaserter Fichte. Der Deckenrand sowie das Schallloch sind mit Perlmutt verziert, die auf dem Griffbrett und dem Kopf weitergeführt wird. Der rechteckige Ebenholzsteg ist an den Seiten ebenso mit Perlmutt verziert. Der Boden und die Zargen der Gitarre sind aus massiver Esche. Die Gitarre befindet sich in einem sehr guten spielbaren Zustand.
