Petar Antic - 2015 "Lattice" No. Z30.15
Overview
Overview
Petar Antic was born in Belgrade, Serbia, where he grew up surrounded by nature, animals, and traditional crafts. As the son of a talented artist and craftsman, he was exposed to natural materials and attention to detail at an early age. At the age of 14, he was introduced to the guitar. Fascinated by a concert by Andres Segovia, he quickly realised that the guitar was his passion. Being left-handed, he had difficulties finding a suitable guitar at the time, which led him to learn the art of guitar making. Petar found his own way, his own vision and style of guitar making, combining the heritage of the great traditional masters with his own personal taste and aesthetics.
The Z-30.15 guitar, crafted by the late Petar Antic in 2015, stands as a poignant reminder of his talent and contribution to the world of guitar making. This instrument, brought to us personally by his son, holds not just musical but also sentimental value, marking the legacy of a luthier who passed away far too soon. In pristine condition, it can be classified as New Old Stock (NOS), a rare find for any musician or collector. The guitar's design and construction are a testament to Antic's dedication to quality and his mastery of the craft. It features a beautiful lattice bracing cedar top, known for its warm tonal qualities, paired with the striking Macassar Ebony for the back and sides. This combination of woods not only gives the guitar a stunning visual appeal but also contributes to its wide range of tonal colors. The excellent playability of this instrument is a highlight, making it accessible and enjoyable for guitarists of all skill levels.
The attention to detail in this guitar is evident in every aspect, from its beautifully crafted and executed ornaments to its superior setup, which ensures ease of play. This guitar is more than just an instrument; it's a work of art that showcases Antic's skill in blending aesthetic beauty with functionality. The excellent volume and response of the guitar make it a versatile choice for a variety of musical styles and settings.
