Oren Myers - 2023 No. 123

Oren Myers - 2023 No. 123

Overview

The design of Oren Myers’ guitars and the construction methods he uses fall into the broad category of “traditional” guitars. Although he works within established parameters, he does not copy any particular guitar maker or construction method. Each tonewood is unique; therefore, the exact thickness of the components of each guitar is adjusted accordingly. The body shape is the result of his plantilla and the decorative elements of the guitars are also created by him.

The 2023 Oren Myers guitar is a stunning instrument with exceptional design and craftsmanship. The head of the guitar is inspired by the lines of Picasso's "Woman with Yellow Hair" painting, while the rosette draws inspiration from an antique Greek vase housed in the British Museum. These details add a unique and artistic touch to the guitar's design. In addition to its exceptional design and craftsmanship, this 2023 Oren Myers features a spruce soundboard that contributes to its bright and responsive tone. Meanwhile, the back and sides of the guitar are made from stunning bird’s eye maple, which adds a beautiful and unique visual texture to the instrument. The Oren Myers guitar offers a fast response and a refined, careful tone that fills the entire room. The trebles are sweet and singing, while the bass response is snappy and powerful, making for a surprisingly well-balanced and dynamic guitar. The guitar’s build quality is excellent, with every detail carefully considered and executed perfectly. Despite its simplicity, the guitar's tasteful and elegant design is a testament to the skill and artistry of its maker. This true concert guitar meets even the highest standards in the classical guitar repertoire.

  • Classical Guitar

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
