Nils Schebesta - 2024 Balsa Doubletop

Nils Schebesta - 2024 Balsa Doubletop

Overview

Nils Schebesta is a talented young guitar maker who started his apprenticeship as a luthier ten years ago. After finishing his apprenticeship, he studied guitar making in Markneukirchen and refined his skills during various internships and workshops. Before he moved into his workshop in Leipzig at the beginning of 2019, he worked for a violin maker for several years. From his workshop, he builds instruments inspired by German and French traditions.

The Nils Schebesta balsa doubletop guitar showcases an innovative approach to concert instrument design, tailored for the modern performer seeking a distinctive and immersive musical experience. Featuring a balsa core double-top construction, this guitar offers a rich, dark tonal palette typical of high-quality German doubletop instruments. Its meticulously crafted purfling, rosette, and neck highlight Schebesta’s exceptional attention to detail and artistry. The trebles are warm, round, and remarkably forgiving, allowing for a smooth and expressive playing experience, while the deep, airy basses add depth and resonance. This instrument provides an effortlessly satisfying performance, making it a standout choice for discerning musicians.

  • Classical Guitars

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
