More details about the guitar

About the luthier

Michel Brück is a German luthier whose work is closely associated today with refined double top construction. At the beginning of his career, he devoted himself to traditional guitars, drawing on historical Spanish models, including the work of Antonio de Torres. After the turn of the millennium, his interest increasingly moved toward double top instruments, a field in which his guitars later became especially recognised for their sound qualities and precise workmanship.

About the guitar

This 1993 Michel Brück, numbered 17, belongs to the early period of his work and was built as a traditional solid top guitar. It has a spruce soundboard, Indian rosewood back and sides, French polish, a 650 mm scale, and Rubner tuners. As an early instrument by a maker now strongly associated with double top construction, it offers an interesting view into the foundation of Brück’s tonal and structural language.

The voice is warm, open, and rich in overtones, with a beautiful tonal colour and a clear sense of forward movement. Its traditional construction gives the sound a natural bloom and an intimate resonance, while the spruce and Indian rosewood combination supports clarity, sustain, and a singing quality in the musical line. The result is a guitar with a refined, expressive character and a tone shaped by warmth, colour, and depth.

Condition

This guitar is in excellent condition, with normal wear and no cracks or repairs. The shellac finish is in impeccable condition. A small string mark behind the bridge has been professionally filled and repolished.
