About the guitar
This 1910 Manuel Ramirez copy, a stunning creation dated 2017, emerges from the esteemed workshop of Lorenzo Frignani, a maestro in the world of luthiery. This guitar is more than an instrument; it’s a bridge across time, faithfully capturing the essence of its historic counterpart. The guitar’s old-world tone immediately transports the player and listener alike to a bygone era of guitar craftsmanship. This remarkable replication is a testament to Frignani’s deep understanding and appreciation of the original 1910 Manuel Ramirez guitar. His unique position as both a luthier and an important collector, especially as the owner of the original Ramirez, has afforded him unlimited access to study and replicate its intricacies. The resulting instrument is not just a copy, but a near-perfect echo of the original, reflecting Frignani’s dedication to authenticity and precision in craftsmanship.
The guitar’s aesthetic and sonic characteristics are both mesmerizing and authentic. It features deep, dark, and mysterious basses that harmoniously blend with airy and lush trebles, creating a sound profile that is both charismatic and unique. The visual aspect of the guitar is equally captivating. The golden honey-colored spruce soundboard not only enhances the guitar’s resemblance to the iconic Ramirez but also adds a touch of elegance. This is beautifully complemented by the dark Indian rosewood used for the back and sides, making it a visual feast.
