About the luthier
Kazuo Sato, born in Tokyo in 1946, is an internationally acclaimed luthier who apprenticed with Kuniharu Nobe in Japan from 1965 to 1971. Thereafter, he went to the workshop of David Rubio in England, where he worked with another renowned guitar maker, Paul Fischer. In 1974, he established his own workshop in Germany, where he still resides and where he now works with his son Hideo Sato.

The brand-new Kazuo Sato 2025 Special is the highest model in the Sato Guitars lineup, crafted entirely by Kazuo Sato himself. Built with the finest materials, including long-seasoned Alpine spruce for the soundboard and spectacularly grained Madagascar rosewood for the back and sides, this instrument represents the pinnacle of his craftsmanship.
