Overview
Overview
Native of Canada, John Ray came to Granada in 1989 to immerse himself in the art of guitar making. There, he was fortunate to learn extensively from local luthiers, especially from German guitar builder Rolf Eichinger, who had also emigrated to Granada to dedicate himself to guitar making. Over the years, John went on to restore numerous masterpieces by legendary luthiers such as Miguel Rodriguez, Vicente Arias, Manuel Ramirez, Salvador Ibañez, and others. Today, his guitars are highly regarded among professional musicians around the world.
This wonderful guitar, numbered 283, has a rich Spanish character, with deep basses and refined, singing trebles. The sound is comparable to Spanish guitars of much higher value. Upon inspection, the build quality stands out, with thoughtful details that enhance the instrument’s overall impression—particularly the captivating, hand-made rosettes. For anyone seeking a true Spanish concert guitar, this one is well worth considering.
