Jake Fuller - 2020
Overview
Overview
As the son of a toymaker, Jake Fuller learned his craft skills in his father's workshop. When he started playing classical guitar at the age of 16, he had the idea to combine his two interests, playing the guitar and working with wood. After graduating from London Guildhall University with a degree in musical instrument technology, he opened his own workshop. There he concentrated especially on the production of light Spanish Torres guitars.
The top has a ladder-like bracing that is stiffer than Fuller's normal design, yet light and gives the guitar a unique response. It is equipped with his new system of bottom struts, which gives the guitar longitudinal stiffness. This system also lowers air resonance, resulting in an improved bass response that does not compromise treble. Combined, this results in a broad dynamic spectrum. Also new is the laminated fingerboard, which significantly reduces the weight of the neck and provides a pleasant touch.
