More details about the guitar

About the luthier:

Hermann Hauser III, born in 1958, continues the illustrious Hauser family tradition that began with Hermann Hauser I, whose instruments were played by legendary figures such as Miguel Llobet and Andrés Segovia. Segovia himself described Hauser’s guitar as “the greatest guitar of our epoch.” Since 1974, Hermann Hauser III has worked independently in the family workshop in Reisbach, Germany, combining deep respect for the methods of his forebears with his own refined approach. His guitars are produced in very limited numbers, each instrument reflecting hundreds of hours of meticulous work, resulting in instruments prized worldwide for their tonal purity, balance, and refinement. Distinguished artists including Pepe Romero have praised Hauser III’s guitars as among the finest in existence.

About the guitar:

This 2006 Hermann Hauser III, numbered 606, is a rare concert instrument that represents the very best of this esteemed workshop. Its spruce top has developed a beautifully darkened patina and was crafted from select hazel spruce, a wood of outstanding quality that is extremely difficult to obtain today. In this period, Hauser introduced his revised bridge design, providing improved intonation, which is integrated into this instrument. With Madagascar rosewood back and sides, the guitar offers a remarkably even and balanced sound across all registers. The trebles are as present and full as the basses, with every note carrying excellent sustain and clarity. The separation of voices is precise, giving the instrument a transparency that projects superbly in large concert halls. Its tonal character is brilliant, sweet, and colorful, while retaining the warmth and balance that define the Hauser legacy. The Landstorfer tuners and 64.5 cm scale enhance both playability and accuracy, making this guitar a particularly fine example of Hauser III’s craftsmanship.

Condition:

The guitar is in excellent condition with no structural issues. The hazel spruce top, bridge, and Japanese cattle bone saddle and nut are all preserved in outstanding shape. The instrument has been exceptionally well maintained, with only light wear visible on the case, which remains fully functional.

  • Classical Guitar

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
