About the luthier
Giulia Lovati, born in 1996 in Pavia, discovered lutherie as a way to unite her passions for music and craftsmanship, finding deep fulfillment in shaping raw materials into instruments that embody both sonic richness and aesthetic beauty. A graduate of the Civica Scuola di Liuteria in Milan, she earned a prestigious internship from the Fondazione Cologni dei Mestieri d’Arte, training in building and restoration with Master Luthier Ennio Giovanetti in Gropparello. She also spent over two years refining her skills in decorative work and French polishing under the guidance of Master Luthier Enrico Bottelli. In 2025, Giulia opened her own workshop in Pavia, where she builds classical guitars inspired by the great Spanish tradition, blending timeless construction methods with a contemporary artistic sensibility.
About the guitar
This beautiful brand-new guitar by Giulia Lovati is inspired by the work of Antonio de Torres. However, it is by no means a direct copy—Giulia has reinterpreted the design through the lens of her own tonal ideals. As a young luthier, Giulia has already achieved an impressive level of craftsmanship, thanks to the guidance of her mentors Ennio Giovanetti and Enrico Botelli. The guitar features deep and resonant basses that evoke the character of the old world, while the trebles are warm, smooth, and remarkably clear. In terms of volume, the instrument is equally impressive. This is truly a high-level concert guitar in every respect.
