Fritz Ober - 2016

Fritz Ober - 2016

Overview

Fritz Ober was born in Rosenheim in 1955 and learned to play the guitar at an early age. He built his first instruments in the 70’s based on guitar building books. Later he trained with the instrument maker Helmut Buchsteiner and initially focused on the construction of lutes. According to his own statements, the skills he acquired were decisive for his approach to guitar making, which was inspired by old masters such as Antonio de Torres.

The 2016 Fritz Ober guitar is an exemplar of exquisite luthiery, a testament to the heights of craftsmanship in the world of classical guitars. This instrument, maintained in an impeccable condition, is as visually stunning as it is sonically enchanting. Its back, crafted from flamed Maple, is not just a visual delight but also plays a significant role in the guitar's tonal richness, adding depth and character to its sound. The guitar's air resonance ranges harmoniously between F to F#, a quality derived from its traditional seven fan bracing. This meticulous structural design orchestrates a spectrum of sounds, from the deep, elegant basses to the trebles that resonate with a singing sweetness. The rounded tone of this guitar, alongside its diverse sound-color possibilities, offers musicians a unique opportunity to explore an array of musical landscapes, making it a truly versatile instrument.

Playing this 2016 Fritz Ober guitar is an experience in itself, marked by a remarkable ease of play and a balance in tonality that is characteristic of Ober's renowned designs. Each note strikes a perfect harmony, showcasing the guitar's responsive and dynamic nature. This guitar is not only a fine example of Fritz Ober's mastery in guitar making but also holds a sentimental significance. Revered as one of the most exceptional German guitars of contemporary times, this guitar embodies a legacy of craftsmanship and musical excellence, offering a rich and immersive playing experience to those who have the pleasure of playing it.

While this guitar is sold, these are ready for you

  • Classical Guitar

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
