Francois Regis Leonard - 2025 No. 100 Lattice

Overview

About the luthier

François Leonard has been building classical guitars for almost 20 years and lives and works in his workshop in Lorient, France. He had the opportunity to learn from many guitar builders in England and also worked in the Lakewood workshop in Germany. He received support from Dominique Field as an occasional mentor, so it is no surprise that the aesthetics and structural concept of his guitars are strongly influenced by French masters such as Daniel Friederich and Dominique Field.

About the guitar

Guitar No. 100 represents a significant milestone in François Leonard’s career, showcasing his mastery as a luthier with a truly outstanding concert instrument. Featuring a lattice construction, this guitar delivers exceptional volume, meeting the demands of professional players in any performance setting. Its remarkable playability ensures effortless control, allowing musicians to fully express their artistry. • Classical Guitar

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
