Francois Regis Leonard - 2023 Spruce No. 85

Francois Regis Leonard - 2023 Spruce No. 85

Overview

François Leonard has been building classical guitars for almost 20 years and lives and works in his workshop in Lorient, France. He had the opportunity to learn from many guitar builders in England and also worked in the Lakewood workshop in Germany. He received support from Dominique Field as an occasional mentor, so it is no surprise that the aesthetics and structural concept of his guitars are strongly influenced by French masters such as Daniel Friederich and Dominique Field.

In the realm of stringed instruments, the 2023 Francois Regis Leonard emerges as a paragon of acoustic grandeur. Chiseled with an immaculate precision from the spruce for its vibrant soundboard and the opulent depth of Indian rosewood shaping its physique, this audacious innovation is a tribute to the perennial sophistication and impeccable resonance intrinsic to such noble materials.

Distinctively graced with a lattice bracing system, this magnum opus boasts a soundboard of unmatched reactivity. Every plucked note is infused with life, pulsating with a resonance and depth that seems almost ethereal. The trebles, rich and intense, reverberate with an amplitude that conveys a seasoned and harmonious tonality, a hallmark of the guitar's authentic spirit.

To interact with the 2023 Francois Regis Leonard is to engage in a profound conversation, a nuanced ballet between musician and masterpiece. Its expansive dynamic scope and multifaceted tonal spectrum offer a canvas for the precise translation of the artist’s intent, encapsulating the soul of each composition.

Every nuance of Francois Regis Leonard’s diligence is felt in each contour, fret, and string — a manifestation of craftsmanship that transcends mere artistry. In essence, the 2023 Francois Regis Leonard Lattice Bracing guitar transcends its identity as a mere musical instrument, presenting itself as an odyssey — a harmonious fusion of top-tier acoustics, agile playability, and the epitome of handcrafted finesse. Tailored for the connoisseur who seeks unparalleled precision and performance, this instrument stands as the pinnacle of acoustic aspiration.

  • Classical Guitars

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
