Eduardo Durán Ferrer - 2016

Eduardo Durán Ferrer - 2016

Overview

Eduardo Durán Ferrer was born in Granada in 1965, to a family with a long artisan tradition which begun in 1875 with his grandfather’s uncle Benito Ferrer. His grandfather, Eduardo Ferrer, was the teacher of almost every guitar maker in Granada, being also a teacher in the Yamaha guitar factory in Japan (in 1966-67-68).
After the apprenticeship in his father Antonio Durán’s workshop, where he learnt the trade from Rafael Moreno, and from his father and grandfather Eduardo, he began working as a guitar maker.
Currently he builds classical and flamenco guitars, using the traditional building system.
This elegant spruce top classical guitar has a very nice rosette with brown shavings. The rosewood bridge is framed with bone inlays. The back and the sides are made of Indian rosewood. The whole guitar is shellac French-polished. About the sound we can say that the guitar has good volume and a round sound. The tuners are made by Rubner. All French-polished. Hardshell case included.

  • Classical Guitars

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
