Dietmar Heubner - 2020 "Premium"

Overview

The Premium models are unique instruments that are developed in cooperation with a selection of exceptional luthiers. These models are exclusively available at Siccas Guitars and are built with the finest Cites-certified Brazilian rosewood of premium quality. Due to its outstanding physical and tonal characteristics, this wood has been used in guitar building since the 19th century and is regarded as the most valuable and aesthetically appealing tone wood in guitar building.

Dietmar Heubner builds traditional guitars with modern sound aesthetics. His instruments impress with their sustain and their extraordinary volume. Due to the wide range of colors and the wide dynamic spectrum, they offer the guitarists plenty of opportunities to express themselves through a unique sound. Dietmar began his career in the 80s in Stuttgart as a cabinetmaker, but soon followed his real passion, the construction of classical guitars. He orientated himself towards the Spanish guitar building tradition at an early stage.

In order to build this extraordinary instrument, Dietmar Heubner decided to eliminate machines and to get as close as possible to the wood. With the help of hand planes and scrapers, he shaped the top as well as the back and sides. This masterly achievement in craftsmanship allowed him to control the thickness of the wood, to adapt spontaneously to its characteristics, and to take advantage of the possibilities and opportunities inherent in every handcraft. This approach is fully in line with Dietmar's philosophy in that he emphasizes that the traditional construction method still has unlimited possibilities for development in terms of sound aesthetics, projection, and everything else that makes the guitar such an exceptional instrument.

The result is a very lively and charming guitar. One finds tremendous volume and projection, absolutely bluffing for a guitar that just left the workshop. The trebles are brilliant and already absolutely mature in their timbre. Moreover, the slightly raised fingerboard provides real comfort for the left hand. There is a long list of all the objective qualities of this guitar, so it is on all the subjectivity, the emotions, and the charm that emanate from this instrument that we are most delighted.

  • Classical Guitars

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
