From Milan, Davide Scacchi has quickly distinguished himself as one of the promising voices of contemporary Italian luthiery. Trained under the renowned Enrico Bottelli, he carries forward the precision and artistry of the Milanese school while developing a voice of his own. Exceptionally light in weight, it offers a deep, enveloping air resonance around F to F#, which provides a striking foundation for its powerful basses. At the same time, the guitar responds instantly to the lightest touch, producing a tone that is both brilliant and nuanced. The result is an instrument that feels alive in the hands of the player. Although newly built, it already projects with a maturity and complexity often associated with more seasoned guitars. Its expressive range is wide, allowing for subtle shaping of tone and dynamics. The carefully applied French polish, elegant detailing, and Perona tuning machines complete the picture of a concert instrument crafted to the highest standards. Otto Rauch is a German guitar maker from the small town of Obermoschel in Rheinland-Pfalz. With over 35 years of experience as a guitar maker, he is one of the German pioneers of double-top construction. After repairing a Matthias Dammann guitar in the early 1990s, Otto Rauch began building doubel-top guitars. At first, he used cedar struts and then a balsa core, a construction he continued to develop over the years. While helping a friend set up his violin making business, Otto Rauch came across the name of the 18th century Venetian violin maker Domenico Montagnana. His cellos are praised for their dark tone, fantastic sound volume and enigmatic construction. As these three attributes reflect Otto’s construction, he adopted the name, and the Domenico Montagnana model was born.
