Danilo Bazzana - 2025 No. 69 - REG 2025 Limited Edition

Overview

About the luthier

Danilo Bazzana was born in Milan in 1985. At the age of thirteen, he started to play the guitar, which became one of his future passions. In April 2015 he opened his workshop in the center of Paderno Dugnano, where he alternates the construction of the classical guitar with the work of fine-tuning, restoration, and repair on any type of pinched instrument. He builds guitars of a traditional type, inspired by the great masters, paying close attention to the choice of materials of every single component of the instrument.

About the guitar

This exceptional guitar by Danilo Bazzana was crafted specifically for the Roma Expo Guitars 2025. For this special edition, Danilo developed an entirely new rosette design, showcasing a geometric, three-dimensional effect. The standout feature is the combination of stabilized burl woods with colored epoxy resin, resulting in vivid, bright colors after finishing. This gives the rosette a unique and highly personal aesthetic, which is echoed in the matching purfling pattern on the soundboard.

The guitar follows Danilo Bazzana’s personal construction concept, drawing inspiration from the French school of guitar making. It features a torrified spruce soundboard for enhanced responsiveness and tonal maturity, while the back and sides are crafted from high-quality Indian rosewood, ensuring depth and warmth.

In terms of sound, this guitar delivers sublime playability, with effortlessly sustained notes, a beautifully balanced harmony, and concert-level volume. The tone is crystalline and layered, offering excellent projection and striking clarity, making it a superb choice for discerning musicians.

  • Classical Guitar

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
