Daniele Chiesa - 2012 64 cm

Daniele Chiesa - 2012 64 cm

Overview

Italian luthier Daniele Chiesa was born in Bergamo, Italy, in 1973. He began playing classical guitar and jazz guitar at the age of twelve. In 1994 he learned violin making at the Violin Building School in Cremona and graduated from there in 1998. Shortly after, he went to California, where he worked in Kenny Hill’s workshop for a year. After that, he went back to Italy to work with the guitar maker Paolo Viscardi. However, he was later drawn back to California, where he worked with Tim Ribbecke. Finally, in 2002, Daniele moved to Spain to participate in a workshop with Francisco Santiago Marin. This experience was so profound for him that he decided to move to Granada to open his own workshop and at the same time have the opportunity to learn from such master luthiers as Paco Santiago Marin, Antonio Marin, José Plazuelo, and Rolf Eichinger.

This beautiful instrument from 2012 reflects Daniele's outstanding craftmanship as a guitar maker. The 640 mm scale is a real blessing for the guitarist with a smaller hand. Its pleasantly shaped neck and stretch-friendly scale make it an ideal instrument that allows for quick progress and offers first-class playing comfort. This pre-loved guitar has a spruce soundboard and Indian rosewood back and sides. The spruce soundboard has a six-fan bracing system. Moreover, this instrument is in great condition, with only superficial playing marks. Acoustically this fine guitar is a true representation of the Spanish sound, especially in the tradition of the Granada school of guitar making. The crystal-clear trebles sing beautifully throughout the register. Furthermore, the basses have colors that match the overall voicing of this instrument.

  • Classical Guitar

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
