Antonio Marin Montero - 2023 No. 932 64 cm

Antonio Marin Montero - 2023 No. 932 64 cm

Overview

Antonio Marín Montero was born in Granada in 1933. In 1957, he joined master Pérez's workshop, and two years later, in 1959, his father advised him to visit Eduardo Ferrer, for whom he worked until opening his workshop. A milestone in Antonio Marin Montero's career was meeting with the French luthier Robert Bouchet in the 1970s. The two artists became friends and built several guitars together. The confrontation between Marin Montero's Spanish building system and Robert Bouchet's particular bracing construction greatly inspired Antonio Marin Montero. Throughout his career, he continued to build a model with the" Robert Bouchet" bracing. Today Antonio Marin Montero is one of the most sought-after Spanish guitar makers.

The 2023 Antonio Marin Montero guitar, No. 932 64 cm, truly reflects Granada's esteemed guitar-making tradition. It boasts a finely-grained spruce soundboard, paired with the rich depth of Ziricote for its back and sides, giving it a classic, elegant look. Acoustically, it stands out with trebles with a clear, singing quality, balanced by robust and precise bass tones. Beyond its sound, the 64 cm scale ensures playability, particularly catering to those with smaller fingers. It's a well-rounded Spanish guitar, suitable for casual play and concert settings.

  • Classical Guitar

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
