Annette Stephany - 2022 No. 63 64 cm

Overview

Annette Stephany developed an interest in Luthiery at 14. At 21, she enrolled in the Mittenwald school of lutherie, where she graduated three years later. She then worked at the workshop of master luthier Lorenzo Frignani in Modena from 2006 until 2009. Moreover, Annette became increasingly interested in the preservation of antique guitars. This led her to a six months restoration course at the workshop of the legendary restorer Bernhard Kresse. She finally set up her workshop in the town of Schweinfurt in Lower Franconia, where she focuses on building classical concert guitars and restoring antique and modern plucked instruments.

This beautiful brand-new instrument came straight from Annette's workshop. It is built traditionally, utilizing a seven-fan bracing system. The nicely decorated cedar top and Madagascar rosewood back and sides display Annette's outstanding craftmanship as a guitar maker. Moreover, the 640 mm scale makes this instrument a perfect guitar for concert performers with smaller hands. Acoustically, this fine instrument has a colorful tonal palette of spruce guitar and the warmth of cedar guitar combined. The crunchy and solid basses provide a strong fundamental to the overall voicing of this incredible guitar. It is a reliable traditional concert instrument that will fulfill the needs of any concert guitarist through its versatility.

  • Classical Guitar

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
