Angelo Vailati - 2024 REG Limited Edition

Angelo Vailati - 2024 REG Limited Edition

Overview

Angelo Vailati belongs to the younger generation of highly qualified Italian luthiers, who have already established themselves internationally and are among the most outstanding representatives of the Italian guitar building scene. After learning from the best and acquiring knowledge under the guidance of Enrico Bottelli, José Luis Romanillos, and Daniele Chiesa, Angelo opened his own workshop in Bologna, Italy. His guitars are strongly inspired by the great masters of the guitar-building tradition. The craftsmanship is precise, delicate and allows him to express his great talent in building tasteful guitars.

The Angelo Vailati REG 2024 – Limited Edition is an exquisite Granada-style concert guitar, handcrafted by the luthier for a special occasion, featuring a design that is both visually striking and rich in sound. This model elevates the traditional aesthetic with a selection of top-quality materials, including a soundboard made of the finest Swiss spruce and back and sides of Madagascar rosewood, characterized by a sophisticated dark brown hue interspersed with deep, intriguing black streaks. The guitar’s neck is crafted from alternating dark and light Honduras mahogany, adding a unique visual contrast. It also boasts a meticulously replicated rosette and purfling inspired by the 1929 Francisco Simplicio designs, enhancing its historical and artistic value.

Acoustically, the REG 2024 – Limited Edition resonates with a distinctive clarity and richness, underpinned by an F# main resonance that yields deeper and more relaxed basses, complementing the exceptionally sweet and melodic trebles. This combination produces a sound that is not only artistically inspiring but also filled with intricate timbral nuances, making the guitar a joy to play. Additionally, it features high-quality Italian Alessi H1 tuners, which are not only functional but also aesthetically pleasing, adorned with handmade floral engravings and mother-of-pearl knobs. This guitar is a testament to skilled craftsmanship, offering both visual beauty and a dynamic range of sounds that will appeal to both concert performers and enthusiasts alike.

  • Classical Guitar

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
