Overview
Andrés Daniel Marvi was born in 1956 and has built guitars in his workshop near Granada, Spain for about 30 years. As a child, he learned to play the guitar, and after his Abitur (A-Level, high-school diploma) he worked as a guitar teacher. He started to get interested in guitar building as well as sound production around this time. He took part in a guitar building class led by the famous luthier José Romanillos in 1984 and proved his technical talent there. In 1985 he passed his guitar building exams in Erlangen and moved to Spain two years later.
What an interesting guitar, featuring a back and sides made of beautiful birdseye maple. This wood, which was frequently used among luthiers of romantic guitars in the XIXth century and was later also highly appreciated by the father of the classical guitar, Antonio de Torres, is in demand again and enjoys growing popularity on the stages of international competitions and concert halls. The particular clarity and transparency of its tone, together with its excellent aesthetic qualities, make it a truly attractive tonewood.
This one of a kind instrument is a great Spanish guitar. The fantastic brilliance of its trebles is supported by strong straight basses, which ensure perfect projection and precise polyphonic sound characteristics. The waxed neck as well as the raised fingerboard offer great comfort for the left hand and its unique timbre is extremely inspiring.
