Andrea Stanzione – 2024 REG Limited Edition

Andrea Stanzione – 2024 REG Limited Edition

Overview

Andrea Stanzione hails from Lissone, a small village north of Milan in the region known as Brianza, which is internationally renowned for its historic production of artisanal furniture. It was by frequenting the local furniture workshops that Andrea first became acquainted with woodworking. However, his path was not yet set towards lutherie; this would come into his life only years later. In 2001, after graduating as an electrical technician, Andrea decided to change direction and enrolled in the Civic School of Luthiery in Milan, graduating with honors in 2005. A few years later, he met Master Enrico Bottelli, with whom he started a collaboration that lasted several years. It was during this time that Andrea enriched his technical and cultural knowledge of traditional Spanish classical guitars. His current workshop is located in the charming Villapizzone neighborhood on the northwestern outskirts of Milan.

The REG 2024 model showcases a meticulously crafted spruce soundboard equipped with a symmetrical 9-radius bamboo fan and a cedar lower bridge, while the remaining struts are constructed from spruce, enhancing the instrument's tonal clarity and responsiveness. The back and sides are designed to be exceptionally thin, allowing them to vibrate freely and contribute significantly to the guitar's rich timbre. Stability is ensured with a very well-seasoned mahogany neck, paired with an ebony fingerboard featuring a pronounced crossover radius that enhances playability.Although barely visible, a closer look reveals a very fine hairline crack, which we of course do not want to leave unmentioned. This fine crack appeared shortly after the guitar was finished in Andrea's workshop and he fixed it himself. Due to the extremely impressive sound quality of the guitar and the fact that this crack is considered entirely uncritical by us and the luthier, we have decided to include this fascinating instrument in our range.

This guitar offers warm trebles and middle voices alongside deep, airy basses, creating a distinctive and beautiful sonic profile. Andrea's commitment to high-level craftsmanship is evident in every aspect of this instrument, which is not only a pleasure to play but also visually striking. The harmoniously matched ornamentations on the purfling and rosette add a final touch of aesthetic elegance, making it a standout piece.

  • Classical Guitar

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
