Xaver Kerschensteiner

Franz Xaver Kerschensteiner (1839–1915) was a renowned German instrument maker from Regensburg, celebrated for his craftsmanship and versatility in building zithers, violins, and guitars. Trained under violin maker Petrus Schulz, he refined his skills during a traditional journeyman period in prominent workshops across Munich, Linz, Vienna, and Würzburg. His exceptional work earned him multiple awards and the honorary title of “Royal Bavarian Court Supplier,” establishing his legacy as one of the leading German luthiers of his era.
