About the Guitar Maker

Nicolas Lamoureux is a French luthier with a rich and diverse background. After studying music and classical guitar at the Conservatory of Nancy in the late 1990s, he devoted himself to other artistic passions such as photography, cinema, animation, and architecture. For nearly a decade, he worked in Paris as a 3D graphic designer for feature films, commercials, animated movies, and architectural visualizations.

During this period, his love for the classical guitar deepened. Fascinated by the artistry of great guitar makers, he studied their craftsmanship through collectors, books, concerts, and recordings. Inspired by the distinctive tonal personalities of legendary instruments, Nicolas built his first guitar—a successful experience that motivated him to fully pursue luthiery.

With the guidance and support of esteemed luthiers Dominique Field and Thomas Norwood, he left Paris and established his workshop in Corrèze, in the heart of France. Today, his finely crafted concert guitars are renowned for their exceptional tonal quality, elegant craftsmanship, and refined aesthetic. They are played by notable musicians and students in conservatories throughout France, admired for their balance, responsiveness, and expressive sound.
