Marie Lequeux

Marie Lequeux is a Belgian luthier born in 1986 who combines a scientific–medical background with refined craftsmanship. After training at the Classical Guitar Making School in Newark under James Lister, Malachy Brady, and Adrian Lucas, she expanded her expertise in bowed instrument making, learning to build and restore violins, violas, and cellos. Today, in her workshop in the Doubs region of France, she crafts high-quality concert guitars and fine bowed string instruments, valued for their precision, musicality, and elegant workmanship.

Marie Lequeux – Guitar Maker

Marie Lequeux was born in Belgium in 1986 and has an academic background in science and medicine. In 2010, she decided to shift her professional path and moved to Newark, England, to study at the Classical Guitar Making School. There, she trained under James Lister, Malachy Brady, and Adrian Lucas.

She then continued her studies in bowed instrument making, where she learned to craft and restore violins, violas, and cellos. After returning to France, she opened her workshop in the Doubs region, where she now builds excellent concert guitars as well as high-quality bowed string instruments.
