Biography

Jonas Anatol Schneele was born in 1983 in the Allgäu region of Bavaria, Germany. His passion for the guitar emerged early in his youth, soon expanding into a deep fascination for guitar making. After completing his formal education as a carpenter, Jonas pursued his love for wood and sound, graduating from the renowned vocational school for plucked instrument building in Mittenwald in 2007.

Between 2009 and 2013, Jonas honed his craft at dieGitarre.ch, a specialized guitar shop in Winterthur, Switzerland, owned by Jury Roten. There, he managed the master guitar department’s repair workshop and built his first professional concert guitars.

Inspired by the diverse needs of professional musicians and enriched by direct exposure to a wide range of instruments and luthiers, Jonas soon designed his first personal concert guitar model. This pivotal development was made possible through his close collaboration with shop manager and guitarist Franco Marioli, and the renowned Michael Winkler of the Eos Guitar Quartet.

From 2013 to 2016, Jonas Anatol Schneele further deepened his expertise by studying musical-instrument making in Markneukirchen, Germany, focusing on acoustics, restoration, innovative construction techniques, and modern instrument design. In 2017, he introduced another refined guitar model and successfully earned his master craftsman’s certificate at Mittenwald.

Since 2017, Jonas has been working as an independent master luthier in Sonthofen, located in the Oberallgäu region. In his workshop, he builds high-quality concert guitars and meticulously restores historical plucked instruments, combining traditional craftsmanship with innovative approaches to meet the highest artistic and tonal standards.
