About the Luthier

Anže Lopatič, born in 1998 in Ljubljana, Slovenia, has been passionate about woodworking since 2013. His early projects involved crafting small objects such as cutting boards, side tables, and home accessories, which fostered a lasting appreciation for the beauty, versatility, and precision of working with wood. This passion eventually led him to the art of guitar making.

To deepen his understanding, Anže enrolled in the Biotechnical Faculty at the University of Ljubljana, where he is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Wood Technology. His academic background provides him with in-depth knowledge of wood properties, structural behavior, and acoustic performance, all of which inform his guitar-making process.

A major influence in his journey has been his sister, professional guitarist Neža Lopatič, whose musical dedication inspired him to build his first concert guitar in 2021. Since then, lutherie has become the central focus of his craft.

Anže Lopatič combines craftsmanship, science, and artistic expression in every instrument he creates. His scientific approach ensures optimal acoustic performance, while his engineering mindset allows for thoughtful wood selection and construction.
