
Kersten Müller
Kersten Müller is Director of the Music and Singing School Heidelberg and studied guitar at the State University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart with Mario Sicca, as well as lute with Robert Barto. He was a prizewinner at the International Guitar Competition “Printemps de la Guitar” and attended masterclasses with, among others, David Russel, Frank Bungarten, Roberto Aussel, and Hubert Käppel. Before and during his studies, he performed both as a soloist and in a duo with guitarist Frank Schilling (Freiberger Guitar Duo), flutist Benjamin Plag, and soprano Regine Hermann. With the Freiberger Guitar Duo and mezzo-soprano Christina Ascher he recorded the first performance of Adriana Hölszky’s Sonnet (Music by Adriana Hölszky, Prize of the German Record Critics, AUL 53595). Since the age of 15, Kersten Müller has been passionately teaching. Many of his students have been successful at all levels of the youth competition “Jugend musiziert” and have passed entrance exams at various music universities.
