Ulrich Uhland Warnecke
Ulrich Uhland Warnecke
Ulrich Uhland Warnecke studied guitar and baroque lute with Prof. Dr. Mario Sicca and Robert Barto at the State University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart, and later in the soloist class of Frank Bungarten in Lucerne. Alongside his work as a soloist in concert settings, as a studio musician, and in CD and radio productions, he is devoted to chamber music in various ensembles and to composing, primarily for classical guitar.
In 2002 he released his first solo CD, titled Gitarre, which attracted considerable attention for its combination of baroque lute works and his own compositions. In 2004 the international specialist magazine GuitArt selected it as CD of the Month.
His second solo recording, Gigbag, followed in 2005. Consisting exclusively of his own compositions, it introduced works that have since become part of the contemporary guitar repertoire and are frequently performed at youth competitions.
A series of booklets featuring his compositions for classical guitar is published by the music publisher Hubertus Nogatz in Essen. Additional pieces appeared in 2007, 2009 and 2010 with Chanterelle in Heidelberg, with further publications in preparation.
His third solo CD, Vespa, was released in summer 2011 and presents ten original compositions.
