Gian Marco Ciampa
Gian Marco Ciampa was born in Rome in 1990. After studying with distinguished teachers such as Bruno Battisti d’Amario, Fabrizio Verile, Fernando Lepri and Celestino Dionisi, he graduated with top marks, honors, and praise under M° Arturo Tallini at the Conservatory “Santa Cecilia” in Rome.
Early Career
Out of thousands of applicants, in 2006 he was selected as one of two young guitarists invited to perform live on the Italian TV show “Domenica In – Ieri, oggi e domani” (Rai 1), hosted by the renowned Italian TV presenter Pippo Baudo under the musical direction of Maestro Pippo Caruso.
Academic Training
In 2011 he was admitted to Maestro Oscar Ghiglia’s guitar course at the prestigious Accademia Chigiana in Siena, where he graduated with honors and a scholarship as one of the top students.
Performances
His performance before the highest Italian political authorities at the Quirinale Palace in Rome on International Holocaust Remembrance Day (January 27, 2013) was broadcast live on Italian television (Rai 3).
Musical Versatility
Alongside classical guitar, Gian Marco has always played electric guitar as well. As an electric guitarist, he has performed at the Acoustic International Guitar Festival in Sarzana, Circolo degli artisti, Stazione Birra, Big Mama, Le Scimmie, as well as in recording studios with his own band (The Libra) and as a session player with other bands, covering genres from rock to jazz, pop to electronic music.
Masterclasses
He regularly participates in masterclasses both in Italy and abroad (Germany, France, USA), taught by world-class guitarists (Carlo Marchione, Judicael Perroy, Bruno Battisti d’Amario, Aniello Desiderio, Marcin Dylla, Nuccio d’Angelo, Fabio Zanon).
SUPERNOVA Ensemble
In 2013 he founded and created “SUPERNOVA,” a guitar ensemble consisting of 8 young Italian guitarists, all winners of international competitions.
Segovia Guitar Academy
Since 2015 Gian Marco has attended the “Segovia Guitar Academy” in Pordenone with Maestros Paolo Pegoraro and Adriano Del Sal.
