Andrés Madariaga Corvalán
Andrés Madariaga Corvalán, born in Santiago de Chile, is the recipient of more than 30 prizes at major national and international guitar competitions in Argentina, Austria, Bolivia, Brazil, Spain, Italy, Greece, Portugal and Thailand. Among his most important distinctions are First Prizes at the Vital-Medeiros Competition (Brazil, 2009), the A. Montovani Competition (Italy, 2018), the Asia Guitar Competition (Thailand, 2017) and the Amarante International Guitar Competition (Portugal, 2018).
In 2021, Andrés Madariaga Corvalán was awarded Second Prize at the Miami International GuitART Competition in the United States. He has appeared as a soloist both in Chile and internationally, performing in venues and festivals in cities such as Amarante, Buenos Aires, Barcelona, Bad Kissingen, Bangkok, Mexico City, Morelia, Milan, São Paulo and Salzburg.
He received his Bachelor of Guitar Performance from the Austral University of Chile in 2011 and completed his Master of Arts in 2016 at the Mozarteum University, where he studied with Marco Tamayo.
